Favorite Escape

Oh, if you only knew
It's you
It's you
My favorite escape
And oh my -
How it's great
You don't even know
You're where I go
When the world spins
Way too fast
Yours is the line I cast
Simple things that I
Hold onto tight
I suddenly forget the fight
You bring a smile
In my endless mile.

Hip Rollin Night

Imagination
Going overtime
Double time
Not conceited
I just know
What I got
It's hot
Give it away to
A sucker who doesn't
Have a clue?
No thank you
I need a
Long
Hip rolling night
To feel all right
Give me another
And another
I need more
Down to my core
Not sure
I'll ever get enough
Do you have
The stuff?
Stay up
Keep it up
Keep me up
I'll build you up
That's for sure
I know I
Have the cure

Random Night

I'm  no
Ordinary girl
On this
Random night
And I'm
More than
A random thought
Jump in
Sure you can
But you better be
Ready to stay
Because
I'm a long haul
Take it to the wall
I need it all
Kind of girl
Not some
Random
Throw away doll
I've been in the corner
High on the shelf
Hiding in myself
But something changed
I deserve better
Go find your
Prancing
Dancing
Never around when
You need her
Girl
Let her rock your world
She needs a good time
All on your shiny dime
She wants to laugh
Doesn't even know your
Dark side
She'll just
Run and hide
We all play
But I'm ready
For someone to stay
On this
Random night
Chill
The lights eventually go out
So don't pout
When good time girl
Is out
Rocking another world
Looking for another
Random good feeling
To keep her reeling
If you look at me
You better
Have feeling
I've been down
I've been out
And I don't pout
Just bringing it
With the heavy heat
I know you understand
Shut up
Hold my hand

Only the Sassy Need Reply

She gave me the look
The kinda look only
A sassy
Sassafras knows
She shook her
Weathered
Tethered
Skinny finger at me
And smiled
80 yr old queen
She's seen it all
The rise
The fall
I tickled her shoulder
& danced away
She mumbled under
Her breath about
Being just that way

Prim and Proper

Sitting in a quiet
Corner
Legs crossed
Nodding my head
In perfect agreement
To the coiffured speech
Fingers laced and
Perfect
Eyes meeting yours
Societal society
Mingling around us
Unaware of the beastly
Thoughts
Tumbling in my head
Undressing you
As we
Casually speak
I think it's cute
You think
I'm meek
I toy with
The different ways
I can make you scream
When I get you alone
You have no idea
But you will
Prim and proper me
Thinking of you
Undressing me

Tell Me, Tell Me

Tell me, tell me
about this thing
called love
Tell me
it's not all fantasy
or cold reality
Surely there's a
  warm spot
    in between

Princess on His Shoulder

He didn't say much
Nothing really
He just approached me
With a smile
Lifted me high
Hoisted me on his shoulder
Said he finally found his
Princess
I laughed so hard
I woke up
From my afternoon nap
A smile still on my lips

Swan Lake

The tired, jaded ballerina
floats to center stage -
blistered toes pointing underneath
tattered ballet shoes.  Face of
stone raised to the
spotlight.  Delicate arms raised -
weightless
Taking flight.
Front row spectators fail to
see bruised skin
bleeding through
white tights.  It's her grace
that mesmerizes.  No one knows
her toiling hour; line of swans
behind her.
Waiting to devour.

Morning Drive

Sunrise
Fell upon the
Valley
Passing cars
Fading stars

Pink sky
Shyly smiling
Behind a line of
Mischievous trees.
