Butterfly Wings

A little, blue
Butterfly
Lighted on my
Window sill
On her wings
A message I fill
Fly safe above the
Jagged rocky bluffs
Send my love
Let it spread

Click, Click Heels

Click, click
Chic
Toes pointing forward
Heels clicking twice
Walking to concrete industry
Work for the mice
Steam rising up from the grates
Sidestepping
No regrets
Home
Home
Home
Keep walking
Heels clicking
Time ticking
Take me home

I'd Stalk You

I'd stalk you
If I could
Sit in your parking lot
Drive off at the
Same damn time
You would
You better believe
I'd hug your bumper
You'd hear my music
Thump, thump
Thumper
See you in your
Normal
Unconventional moment
Brushing your hair
Wiping your face
Oh, I lament

Prettiest Girl

Class bell clanging
In the bathroom hanging
Powdering nose
Powdering cheeks
Summer would come
In just a few weeks

She was the prettiest girl
Mocha, light
Cappuccino skin
Big, bright eyes
Laughing away sin

We always met at the
Same time
Every day
10 minutes
Before the chime

Her perfect skin
Unruly hair
Easy smile
Not a care

Day before it happened
She confessed her soul
Bits and pieces
Fell to the high school's
Dirty, tile floor
I didn't know what to say
So I brushed it away
That's what the young heart does
When life seems too heavy
In every kind of way

Next day came
And she was gone
Picture plastered on the wall
In a makeshift
Last minute throne
Our conversation felt so heavy
Ringing in my ears
But what I remember the most
Was her smiling mouth
Eyes full of tears
"What if I ended it..."
I never got the chance
To gauge my own
Visceral reaction
She was gone in an instant
Suicidal attraction

Come What May

We'll make love
Bodies singing
A hymn to our love
We'll savor the long embrace
After we catch our
Priceless breath
A poem written
On the pages
Of our souls
Connected
Intertwined
Now one
Some fine day
Come what may

Wild Flower

If I was a wild flower
In a field of many
Would you pick only me
Would you bend down
Savor my scent
From my soft soil
Gently pluck me
Would my petals
Catch your attention
Amongst the other
Pretty, pretty flowers
Would you pick others
Take us all home and
Put us in an arrangement
In your grand foyer
Or would you
Pick only me
Select the perfect vase
Always in your view
I would grace
Occasionally picking me up
Closing your eyes
Going to your favorite place
Thanking God and
Heaven above that
You picked me?

Simmering Cauldron

Moonshine
Shining
Gestation almost full
I feel the pull
Cauldron hot and
Simmering
Bright eyes shimmering
Slowly stirring
Reading the elusive message
In the restless, loitering
Dancing bubbles
Resting my weary head
To completely understand
Oh, the simmering cauldron
Burns hot
With the message of the
Coming day

Take Me To Your Church

Take me
Together we'll kneel
Feel
Pray
As our souls blend
The bending bend
Unrestricted
Unrestrained
Howling under
The same moon
The silver line
Kissing our skin
Shutting out our sin
Begin
Let it all out
At our altar

Blue Jean Girl

Oh
I like the glitter
I think all girls do
But I love my
Blue jeans blue
Hugging my skin
Like a lover
Riding my hips
Swaying with me
Comfortably
My finishing statement
Making me feel
So damn sexy

The Muse

The verse is a
poetic muse
hissing sometimes.
She scratches at the
white lines in my mind.
Other times,
she's so precocious and
mysterious.  So I sit in her
cathedral of thought.
Waiting for her to forget
her shyness
and boldly come out.

Say it to the Rain

Let the rain pour down
Say it loud
Say it proud
Let it wash away
Tough is the resistance
Foolish persistence
In the denial
The clouds are our
Witness
Say it to the rain
Your kiss still lingers
Passion's tender fingers
Playing my
Heart strings
Wondering
What
Tomorrow brings

Witchy Woman

She told me of our
Long line
Of mystic ladies
One Irish
One Indian
She warned me
The telling of it all
The feelings
Reading shadows
On the wall
Sipping our
Mystic tea
With witchy glee

Tell Me, Tell Me

Tell me, tell me
I'm listening
Yes
I'll kiss your neck
Your cheek
Growl as you find it
Hard to speak
Oh
Keep telling me
Your body
Says so
So
Much
Almost as much
As your touch
It may not seem like it
But I promise
I'm listening
Body glistening

Dream

Not sure if it
was a foretelling
A lovely foreshadowing
Or something in my
imagination
I felt you
encompass me
I felt the embrace
Maybe it was just a dream
That's what it would seem
But I woke up
Still feeling you
