Ruminating Night

Thick humidity you could cut with a knife and I sit in childlike wonder
Thoughts turning and rolling
To a time and place I yet not know
The thought of giving up my control
Handing it over like a precious gift
Full of trust and faith and love
Letting a night quite like this
Just roll and roll
Twisted in silken sheets of lusty secrets
To feel hands roam
Mouths searching and the fateful groan
Hands clasping and grasping
Not bothering to even ask for the everlasting
Just living a moment
A sweat-glistened sacrament

This ruminating night
Where fireflies fly
Twinkling their glitter light
I think the fluttering hands of my future lover
Have a healing touch
A fingerprint on my soul
To wipe away my past blight
